Robin Schlochtermeier is a composer, songwriter and guitarist.
He was trained classically on the violin from an early age (6), leading to a tour in France with a youth orchestra when he was 14.
At that time, he became involved in the punk/hardcore scene in his home town in Germany, Koblenz, which included bands like Blackmail, who later went on to conquer the national scene.
While studying philosophy at university in Scotland, Robin came into contact with African music and percussion instruments like the darabouka, djembe or the dunun, organising and teaching drumming classes.
At the same time, he performed along with over 200 dancers, actors and musicians at the quarterly mega-spectacles organised in the Scottish capital by the Beltane Fire Society and performed his own songs in the long-running intimate folk club, Kin.
He then formed rock band The Very which played over 80 gigs, toured Europe and won a number of prizes (T in the Park festival and DIESEL-U-MUSIC).
Since 2008, he has been producing music for film, television and video games from his project studio. His studies include harmony and counterpoint with award-winning composer Leon Willett as well as a Film Scoring programme at Berklee School of Music. Currently he is taking an MA in Composition for Film and Television at The University of Bristol.
